Graeme Black

Before Equilibrium, I was working in asset servicing but always had ambitions to move over the fence into the investment world. Following being awarded the Investment Management Certificate, I then went on to study for my diploma from the Institute of Securities and Investments. Equilibrium has allowed me to grow and develop my knowledge working in an Investment Analyst role.

As a firm, we are very adaptable and change is a major part of the business, always looking to improve what we do for clients and staff. In my role, I have worked closely on some significant changes to how we manage investments. Moving from a model approach to running our own range of fund of funds was a massive step forward that will benefit clients for years to come.

Leaving one of the largest global custodian banks with offices around the world to work for a regional wealth manager with less than 50 members of staff was a big culture change. Working late into the night for little thanks was no longer part of my working life and even as Equilibrium has grown there is a real family feel where people go out of their way to help each other.

Outside of work you’ll usually find me in the kitchen or planning family adventures in our campervan.
